Local Doctors Reveal Hidden Talents at 7th Annual Physicans' Talent Showcase
Fifteen of Naples’ finest physicians came together at Sugden Theatre on Tuesday, October 25th to participate in the 7th Annual Steinway Physicians’ Talent Showcase, for the benefit of the Neighborhood Health Clinic and the Steinway Piano Society Scholarship Fund. The largest, most well-attended event yet, this year’s show sold out two weeks in advance and featured physician singers, dancers, musicians, along with a ventriloquist and a magician. The acts were backed up by Steinway Piano Society Founder Greg Billings’ 12 piece band “Throat Culture,” Performers included: Dr. Brian Timm and Dr. Mark Russo (Emcees), Dr. Millard Brooks, Dr. Catherine David, Dr. Newell R. Falkinburg, Dr. Jan Forszpaniak and his wife, Joanna Forszpaniak, Dr. David Harris, Dr. Hope Heisler, Dr. Corey Howard, Dr. Joseph Lang and his wife Lisa Lang, R.N., Dr. Richard Linden, Dr. Myles R. Samotin, Dr. David Wilkinson.
As a special treat, Ms. Priscilla Navarro, seventeen year old Sophomore at FGCU’s Bower School of Music and recipient of Steinway Piano Society’s collegiate scholarship and winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Lima, Peru this past summer, delighted the audience with her performance. 85 year old Dr. Bill Lascheid, who co-founded the Neighborhood Health Clinic with his wife Nancy Lascheid, RN, performed in the All Physician Ukelele Orchestra with a uke he brought back from the Korean War. The show will be broadcast locally on Comcast channel 14.
This year’s show raised almost $50,000 thanks to principle sponsors, Nurse on Call, and NCH Medical Staff. Additional funds were generated through ticket sales, and community sponsors including: Dance Life of Southwest Florida, Family Foot and Leg Center, FGCU Foundation, Naples Day Surgery, Norris Home Furnishings, Moorings Park, Morgan Keegan, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Pulte Homes, Radiology Regional, Walgreens Option Care.
“Our six previous shows have generated over $125,000, for the Neighborhood Health Clinic, but with so many still under-employed,” said “Chairwoman Sara Billings RN “The need for our support is greater than ever.”

Local Doctors Unveil Hidden Talents for a Good Cause at 6th Annual Physicans’ Talent Showcase
Eighteen of Naples’ finest physicians came together at Sugden Theatre on Tuesday, October 19th to participate in the 6th Annual Physicians’ Talent Showcase, to benefit the Neighborhood Health Clinic and the Steinway Piano Society Scholarship Fund.
The largest, most well-attended event since it first began, the show featured physicians singing, dancing, playing instruments, and performing magic. Their talents were bolstered by the sounds of Steinway Piano Society Founder Greg Billings’ band “Throat Culture,” Naples’ best charity event back up band. Physician performers included: Dr. Richard Linden, Dr. Chris Cugini, Dr. Corey Howard, Dr. Kae Ferber, Dr. Mark Russo, Dr. Brian Timm, Dr. Newell Falkinberg, Dr. Hope Heisler, Dr. Martin Cohn, Dr. Phil Vigoda, Dr. Joseph Lang (with wife Lisa, and son Joey), Dr. Jan Forszpaniak, Dr. Millard Brooks, Dr. Myles Samotin (with son Noah), Dr. Nick Franco, Dr. David Wilkinson, Dr. Catherine David, Dr. Debra Doud
The show boasts a record-breaking amount of funds raised, thanks to our two principle sponsors, Nurse on Call, and Physicians’ Regional Healthcare Systems. Additional funds were generated through ticket sales, and community sponsors including: Naples Originals, The Walker Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, Bentley Village, Family Foot & Leg Center, UDSI, Girar Photraphy, Ifusion Services by Walgreens, WGCU, Del Webb/ Pulte, FGCU, Naples Illustrated, Moorings Park, Millennium Physicians Group, and Covenant Presbyterian Church.
According to Billings, “our five previous shows have generated over $100,000 and we have had 18 economically disadvantaged kids get free pianos or lessons from the Piano Bank, but these are challenging times and there is more need than ever.”

Fifth Annual Physicians' Talent Showcase
Ten of Naples’ finest physicians came together at Sugden Theatre on Tuesday, October 20 to participate in the 5th Annual Physicians’ Talent Showcase benefit the Neighborhood Health Clinic and the Steinway Piano Society Scholarship Fund.
The physicians sang, danced, played instruments and even performed a magic act to benefit the uninsured working poor and the economically disadvantaged children of Collier County. Returning acts included Dr. Millard Brooks, pianist Dr. Myles Samotin and vocalist Dr. Cathy David. Also returning are Dr. Richard Linden, Dr. Kae Ferber, Dr. Hope Heisler, Dr. Christy Cugini and Dr. Joseph Lang. New to the show were Dr. Debra Doud and Dr. Corey Howard. The doctors were backed up by Steinway Piano Society founder Greg Billings’ 12-piece band, "Throat Culture."
Funds were generated through ticket sales, principal sponsor, Physicians’ Regional Healthcare System, and other community sponsors including Naples Illustrated, WGCU-FM, Moorings Park, Senior Home Care, the FGCU Foundation, AmeriCare Home Health Services and Covenant Presbyterian Church. According to Billings, "our four previous shows have generated almost $80,000 and we have had 18 economically disadvantaged kids get free pianos or lessons from the Piano Bank, but these are challenging times and there is more need than ever."
