Four generations of the Billings family have been passionately involved in music.

Roy "Red" Billings
Roy was a musician who toured the midwest and went on to become a successful inventor with several patents related to the first hydraulic crane.
Zeb Billings
Zeb is a musician, TV Personality, composer, publisher, and inventor who created some of the first self-instruction piano and organ courses. Later he developed chidren's books with interactive music and sound effects known as "talking books." Now retired, Zeb still performs regularly with his jazz group "Java" and is sometimes found lending a hand at Steinway Piano Gallery. His CD "B Natural in Naples" is a local favorite.

Greg Billings

Greg is a musician, industry leader and author who toured with the rock band "The General Store" in the southern U.S. in the late 1960's. In addition to being owner of the Steinway Piano Gallery, Greg was the founding secretary of the SPELLS group and author of the Piano Retailer Code of Ethics. He was elected to the National Association of Music Merchants Board of Directors in 1993. He is also founder of the Southwest Florida Steinway Piano Society, which began in 1997, and he served on the FGCU Scholar's Club Board of Advisors. Author of numerous articles and letters published in Music, Inc. and Music Trades magazines, Greg plays bass and keyboard with local contemporary Christian rock bands.

Grant Billings
Following in his family’s footsteps, Grant began his entertainer career in high school; first as a keyboard player, then as a mobile disc jockey. He studied business in college, worked in his family’s piano stores, and was a District Sales Manager for one of the world’s largest piano manufacturers. A strong advocate of music education, he founded the Steinway Piano Society’s Annual Young Artist Competition in 2000. In 2004, Grant became the first person to earn two Masters degrees from William Steinway University. He is the owner of Steinway Piano Gallery of Madison, where he also serves as Executive Director of the Steinway Piano Society and on the Board of Directors of Rhapsody Arts Center and the Madison Area Music Association (MAMA).
